Q. What do I need to do to book a room?
To secure your booking you will need to pay an advance rent payment of £250.00 with your application.
Q. Who is the cheque made payable to?
OPAL ESTATES - please write your name on the back of the cheque.
Q. Can I pay by Credit or Debit Card?
Yes we accept, Visa, MasterCard, Delta, Switch, Solo & Electron. There is a surcharge of 1.5% on every transaction. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH PAYMENTS
Q. Does the rent include utility bills?
Yes, the rent charge covers all electricity and water costs, it also includes contents insurance up to £3,000. Please ask for a leaflet for specific details.
Q. Is a television included?
Yes, the apartment is Equipped with a 21 inch Colour TV.
Q. Do I need a TV licence?
Yes, if you do not buy a valid TV licence you could be prosecuted and fined.
Q. Are there telephone provisions?
Yes, every bedroom has a telephone point and handset. There is no connection fee and it provides you with free internal calls and voice mail. It is in effect a pay as you go scheme for external calls. You can credit your phone account by credit card payment directly to the telephone provider or you can purchase top up vouchers from the security lodge.
Q. How much are the calls?
Internal Calls at Fiveways Hall are free and you have a free voice mail service. External calls are competitively priced, charged at similar to BT standard rates, ask for a charging list for specific charges.
Q. Can I have Internet access?
Yes. The internet is run by a company called ASK 4. Basic internet packages start from £150. They are able to offer different packages to suit your needs. During move in period a representative will be available to take your payment and answer any questions you may have.
Q. Is there any car parking?
Yes, however these spaces are very limited. If you would like to apply for a car parking space please ask for an application from, you will be informed around August if you have been successful. Car park spaces are charged at £25.00 per calendar month. We do make provisions for dropping off and picking up at the beginning and end of your tenancy.
Q. How can I choose what accommodation I live in?
On the personal detail section of the application pack, please list your preferences and we will do our best to match them. Please note that while every effort will be made to meet your preferences no guarantee can be given regarding can be given.
Q. Can I pay by instalments.
All UK residents can pay by instalments. This can be paid by direct debit or by cheque at our offices. If you chose to pay by instalments you must provide details of someone who will act as your guarantor, this person will be required to meet certain criteria. All non-UK residents are required to pay their rent in full, for which they will receive a 4% discount.
Q. What is the difference between a standard and a deluxe room?
The deluxe rooms are a little bigger and they also include a double bed and an easy chair. Standard rooms feature a single bed. Both rooms have the same en-suite facilities.
